A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING
THE ADMINISTRATION TO DIRECT THE ARCHITECT TO
DESIGN THE COLLINS CANAL WALKWAY PROJECT
EAST OF WASHINGTON AVENUE ALONG THE NORTH
SIDE OF 21ST STREET INSTEAD OF THE SOUTH
SIDE OF 22ND STREET.
WHEREAS, the Citizen's Committee for the 21st Street
Recreation Center has recommended that the project be changed to
the north side of 21st Street; and
WHEREAS, the general public that live in the area
currently use 21st Street as their main walking corridor to the
Community Center; and
WHEREAS, the entrance to the 21st Street Recreation
Center Complex site lines up with 21st Street; and
WHEREAS, the Beachfront Park and Promenade project
terminates at 21st Street; and
WHEREAS, the architect concurs with the Committee ' s
recommendation that this relocation of the project would best
serve the general public that live in the area;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT DULY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COM-
MISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA that they authorize
the Administration to direct the architect to design the Collins
Canal Walkway project east of Washington Avenue along the north
side of 21st Street instead of the south side of 22nd Street.
