SUBJECT: Tatum Waterway and North Beac Area Workshop
I am pleased to announce and invite you to the Tatum Waterway and North Beach area
workshop. This public workshop, which will take place on Thursday, May 9, 2019 at 6:00 pm at
North Shore Park & Youth Center (501 72nd Street), has been duly noticed as a public meeting
and elected officials are welcome to attend and participate. Residents, property owners,
business owners and stakeholders will be encouraged to provide additional feedback through
email or by calling the Planning Department.
An important step in updating our City Code is to identify the major issues, successes, and
concerns facing all areas in the City. The City of Miami Beach is hosting this community meeting
to hear from area residents, business and property owners, and all stakeholders, on the future
vision of this neighborhood.
A potential code change, to allow for adaptive reuses along the Tatum Waterway and North
Beach Area, is currently pending before the Land Use and Development Committee. A
summary of this workshop is scheduled to be discussed at the May 22, 2019 meeting of the
Land Use and Development Committee. The information gathered at this workshop will also be
utilized to further inform potential policy changes and code amendments.
