RESOLUTION NO. 84-17723
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF MIAMI BEACH AUTHORIZING THE
EXECUTION OF AN AGREEMENT FOR PROFESSIONAL
SERVICES BETWEEN THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH AND
L. GARRY SMITH & ASSOCIATES.
WHEREAS, the City of Miami Beach recognizes and requires lobbying services on
its behalf at all Florida State Legislative Sessions and State Legislative Corn mittees during
the term of the Professional Service Agreement; and
WHEREAS, the Consultant has agreed to supply lobbying services on behalf of
the City and to propose and/or oppose items on behalf of the Citizens of Miami Beach, so
that they may be properly represented; and
WHEREAS, the City of Miami Beach requires particular representation for
projects, programs, activities, advertising, tourism, legislation, appropriations and grants;
and
WHEREAS, the City is in a position to contract with L. Garry Smith &
Associates to perform the foregoing services in accordance with policies, rules, regulations,
control and direction of the City.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT DULY RESOLVED THAT THE CITY COMMISSION
OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH authorizes the City to enter into an agreement with L.
Garry Smith & Associates to provide professional lobbying services for the City of Miami
Beach for the sums set forth in said agreement.
