THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH
REQUESTS THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT TO GRANT THE
CITY TITLE TO THE THREE REMAINING ACRES OF
FEDERAL LAND TO THE WEST OF SOUTH POINTE PARK
TO BE USED EXCLUSIVELY FOR PARK AND OPEN SPACE
RECREATIONAL USE.
WHEREAS, the Federal Government has given the City of
Miami Beach 17 acres of land in 1979 to be used for park and
recreational purposes; and
WHEREAS, the City has committed $1. 9 million dollars to
construct the South Pointe Park; and
WHEREAS, an additional three acres of land is required
to complete and integrate the park with adjacent public and
private improvements,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT THE CITY COMMISSION
OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH requests the Federal Government to
grant the City title to the three remaining acres of Federal land
to the west of South Pointe Park to be used exclusively for park
and open space recreational use.

Whereas, certain real property owned by the United States, located in
the County of Dade , State of Florida , has •
been declared surplus and at the discretion of the General Services
Administration, may be assigned to the Secretary of the Interior for
disposal for public park or recreation purposes, under the provisions
of Section 203(k)(2 i of the Federal Property and Administrative Services
Act of 1949 (63 Stat. 387) , as amended, and rules and regulations promul-
gated pursuant theret.), more particularly as described in paragraph 1 ,
Part "B" of this application.
Whereas, City of Miami Beach, Florida

needs and will utilize said property in perpet_ni t:, for a public park or
recreation area as set forth in its application and in accordance with
the requirements of said Act and the rules and regulations promulgated
thereunder;
Now, Therefore, Be It Resolved, that City of Miami Beach, Florida

shall make application to the Secretary of the Interior for and secure
the transfer to it of the above-mentioned property for said use upon and
subject to such exceptions, reservations, tends , covenants, agreements,
conditions, and restrictions as the Secretary of the Interior, or his
authorized representative, may require in connection with the disposal
of said property under Act and the rules and regulations issued pursuant
thereto; and Be It Further Resolved that City of Miami Beach, Florida
