A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING EXECUTION OF LEASE
AMENDMENT WITH EXPOSITION CORPORATION OF
AMERICA FOR USE OF THE NORTH AND SOUTH HALLS
OF THE MIAMI BEACH CONVENTION CENTER IN 1983-
1986 .
WHEREAS, the CITY OF MIAMI BEACH entered into a lease
agreement with
EXPOSITION CORPORATION OF AMERICA
hereinafter referred to as LESSEE, said agreement having been
approved by the City Commission on
OCTOBER 19, 1983
for use of certain premises and facilities of the City of Miami
Beach, to-wit:
THE NORTH AND SOUTH HALLS OF THE
MIAMI BEACH CONVENTION CENTER
for the event known as:
MIAMI HOME SHOW
in 1983-1986
Lessee will add dates for year 1987:
May 18-21, 1987: Move in
May 22-31, 1987 : Show
June 1-2, 1987: Move out
WHEREAS, said LESSEE has requested an amendment to said
agreement as set forth in Commission Memorandum No. 339-84 , a
copy of which is included in the agenda for the meeting at which
this Resolution was adopted, and
WHEREAS, all other terms and conditions of the existing
agreement shall remain the same, and
WHEREAS, an appropriate Amendment to Agreement, signed
by the said LESSEE and approved as to form and legal sufficiency
by the City Attorney, is attached hereto and made part hereof, the
provisions of which are familiar to the City Commission;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF
THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, that the Amendment to the
existing lease agreement as set forth in said Commission
Memorandum be and the same is hereby accepted and approved, and
the Mayor and City Clerk be and they are hereby authorized and
directed to execute said Amendment to Agreement in the name of and
on behalf of the City.
PASSED and ADOPTED this 5th day of June 1984 .

CONTRACTED: 1983 - 1986
NEW DATES: 1983 - 1987
LEASE APPROVED: By Commission on October 19, 1983
AMENDMENT Lessee will add dates for year 1987 to the above mentioned
PURPOSE: contract in North and South Halls of the Miami Beach
Convention Center.
RATE: Lessee hereby covenants and agrees to pay the Lessor the
rates which will prevail in 1987 as approved by the Commission
subject to the following minimum rentals for facilities and
box office:
45 per square foot net exhibit space used with a minimum
guarantee of $18,000.00 for each building for 6 days plus
$24,000.00 based on $3,000.00 each day over 6 days for
each building.
Box Office Charges - if used - $30.00 per day which includes
one person for supervisory purposes only.
