A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF MIAMI BEACH AUTHORIZING AND
DIRECTING PREPARATION OF AN OFFICIAL
STATEMENT TO BE USED IN CONNECTION WITH
THE SALE OF PARKING REVENUE BONDS IN THE
AMOUNT OF $6 , 000, 000 FOR THE PURPOSE OF
ACQUIRING, EQUIPPING AND IMPROVING
AUTOMOBILE PARKING FACILITIES IN THE CITY
OF MIAMI BEACH, AUTHORIZED AT AN ELECTION
HELD ON OCTOBER 5 , 1978 ; AUTHORIZING
RELATED ACTION; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE
DATE.
WHEREAS, the duly registered and qualified voters of
the City of Miami Beach, Florida (the "City" ) , participating
in an election held according to law in the City on October 5 ,
1978 , authorized the issuance of parking revenue bonds of the
City in an amount of $6 , 000 , 000 (the "Bonds" ) for the purpose
of acquiring, equipping and improving automobile parking
facilities in the City; and
WHEREAS , the City Commission of the City (the
"Commission" ) has determined that it is in the best interests
of the City and its citizens to proceed with the sale and issuance
of the Bonds.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION
OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA THAT:
Section 1 . Dean Witter Reynolds, Inc. , Financial
Advisor, and Morgan, Lewis & Bockius, Bond Counsel , are hereby
directed to prepare an Official Statement, Notice of Sale and
Official Bid Form to be used in connection with the sale of
the Bonds, which documents shall be submitted to the Commission
for its approval at a subsequent meeting.
Section 2 . The proper officers of the City are hereby
authorized, empowered and directed to assist in the preparation
of said Official Statement, Notice of Sale and Official Bid
Form; and, in addition, are authorized, empowered and directed
to take all such further action, and to execute such additional
documents as they deem advisable to prepare for a public sale
of the Bonds, and to carry out the purposes of this Resolution.
Section 3 . This Resolution shall be in force and
effect immediately upon its adoption.
