A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF MIAMI BEACH DIRECTING THE PLANNING
BOARD TO COMPLETE ITS DELIBERATIONS ON THE
PROPOSED SOUTH POINTE ZONING ORDINANCE AT
THE PLANNING BOARD'S JUNE 26, 1984 MEETING.
WHEREAS, the Planning Board reviewed the proposed South Pointe Zoning
Ordinance at the November 28, 1983, and February 9, 1984 meetings;
WHEREAS, the Planning Board's South Pointe Zoning Subcommittee
reviewed the proposed South Pointe Zoning Ordinance at the February 14, 1984, April 2,
1984, April 25, 1984, and June 11, 1984 workshops;
WHEREAS, the Planning Board held a public hearing on May 22, 1984, and
continued this hearing to June 4, 1984, and again continued the hearing to June 26, 1984;
WHEREAS, the Economic Development Council's Subcommittee on South
Pointe on April 25, 1984, recommended the Planning Board approve the proposed Ordinance;
WHEREAS, Section 16-1 of Zoning Ordinance No. 1891 requires the
Planning Board to hold a public hearing and submit its report and recommendation to the
City Commission;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT DULY RESOLVED BY THE CITY
COMMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, that the Planning Board has
adequately reviewed the South Pointe Zoning Ordinance during the past eight (8) months and
any further delays after the June 26, 1984 public hearing are not in the best interests of the
City.
PASSED and ADOPTED this 20th day of June; 984.
