A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI
BEACH CALLING A PUBLIC HEARING TO CONSIDER THE
RECOMMENDATION OF THE PLANNING BOARD TO THE CITY OF
MIAMI BEACH REGARDING AN AMENDMENT TO SECTION 22 OF
ZONING ORDINANCE NO. 1891; ESTABLISHING NEW SECTION 31 TO BE ENTITLED
PS PERFORMANCE STANDARD DISTRICT; APPLYING SAME TO REDEVELOPMENT AREA;
AMENDING ZONING MAP ACCORDINGLY.
WHEREAS, the Planning Board of the City of Miami Beach at a public hearing
held on June 26, 1984, approved an amendment to Section 22-ID - Interim Development
District by eliminating the designation of same on the City of Miami Beach Zoning District
Map except as applied to the area south of Biscayne Street; by making such other changes as
are necessary to bring the Zoning Ordinance into conformance with the new permanent
zoning for South Pointe, as established herein; by adopting a new Section 31 to be entitled:
"PS -Performance Standard District" and mapping same on the City of Miami Beach Zoning
District Map in order to regulate development and redevelopment in the Redevelopment
Area in conformity with the South Pointe Revitalization Strategy (February, 1984), a
redevelopment plan adopted by the City Commission pursuant to the Community
Redevelopment Act (F.S. %163.330 ET SEQ.) and as the Redevelopment Element of the City
Comprehensive Plan pursuant to the Local Government Comprehensive Planning Act of 1975
(F.S. %163.3161 ET SEQ.)
WHEREAS, said action of the Planning Board has been duly transmitted to the
City Commission pursuant to Section 16 of said Ordinance.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT DULY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF
THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA that the first of two required public hearings on
the proposed amendment will be Wednesday, September 5, 1984, at 5:00 P.M. in the
Commission Chambers, City Hall, 1700 Convention Center Drive, Miami Beach, Florida, and
the second of the two required public hearings will be held on Wednesday,
September 19, 1984 at 5:00 P.M. in the Commission Chambers, City Hall, 1700 Convention
Center Drive, Miami Beach, Florida, and the City Clerk is hereby authorized and directed to
publish appropriate Public Notice of said public hearing to be published in a newspaper of
general circulation in the City of Miami Beach, at which time all interested parties will be
heard.
PASSED and ADOPTED this 11th day of July, 1984.
