A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH,
AUTHORIZING AN EXTENSION OF AN AGREEMENT
BETWEEN THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH AND THE MIAMI
DESIGN PRESERVATION LEAGUE AND AN INCREASE OF
$1,900 IN THE CONTRACT AMOUNT, FOR THE PURPOSE OF
FUNDING A LUMMUS PARK LANDSCAPING
DEMONSTRATION PROJECT ALONG OCEAN DRIVE.
WHEREAS, The City of Miami Beach and the Miami Design Preservation League
have entered into an Agreement for the purpose of funding a Lummus Park landscaping
demonstration project along Ocean Drive; and
WHEREAS, the parties to the Agreement are desirous of amending the
Agreement and extending the expiration date to December 31, 1984; and
WHEREAS; the Agreement makes provisions for modifying said Agreement as an
amendment thereto; and
WHEREAS, the bid for the lighting component of the project came in, at $1,900
over the existing budget, and
WHEREAS; the City Commission deems it to be in the best interests of the City,
its residents and citizens that said amendment be entered into;
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT DULY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF
THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, that the Mayor and City Clerk are hereby
authorized and directed to execute an amendment to the Agreement with the Miami
Design Preservation League in the name and on behalf of the City, and the disbursing
officers of the City are hereby authorized and directed to disburse the monies required
by the terms of said Amendment to the Agreement from Community Development
Block Grant funds heretofore allocated for said purpose.
BE IT ALSO DULY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, that the Mayor is hereby authorized to execute the
amended Agreement, which increases the contract by $1,900 and extends the
completion date until December 31,1984.
