A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, ACCEPTING A GRANT FROM THE
STATE OF FLORIDA, DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH AND
REHABILITATIVE SERVICES FOR THE RETARDATION
PROGRAM AND AUTHORIZING EXECUTION OF THE
CONTRACT TO PROVIDE SERVICES.
WHEREAS, the State of Florida, Department of Health and Rehabilitative
Services has offered a grant of $159,088.80 in order to provide developmental training for
mentally retarded adults; and
WHEREAS, the transportation portion of the grant offer is for six month
period, to be followed by another six month grant offer, as explained in the attached
Commission Memorandum; and
WHEREAS, authorization is given for the execution of the subsequent
transportation contract that will be offered by H.R.S. during fiscal year 1984-85.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT DULY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION
OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, that this grant offered from the State of
Florida be accepted; and that the Mayor and the City Clerk be authorized and directed to
execute the contracts to provide developmental training for 37 mentally retarded adults
at the Miami Beach Activity Center.
