A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
MIAMI BEACH PROVIDING FOR AN INCREASE IN SALARY TO ALL
PHYSICIANS EMPLOYED IN THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH FIRE
RESCUE SERVICES, TO BECOME EFFECTIVE RETROACTIVE TO
OCTOBER 1, 1984.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI
BEACH, FLORIDA:
WHEREAS, Ordinance No. 1906, providing for emergency medical services to be
provided by licensed physicians accompanying Fire Rescue personnel was adopted by the
City Commission of the City of Miami Beach pursuant to a vote of the Electorate on
November 2, 1971; and
WHEREAS, the City Com mission of the City of Miami Beach deems it in the best
interest of said City, its citizens and residents to provide compensation to said licensed
physicians that will be competitive with local emergency room physicians and enable the
City to retain our experienced physicians;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF MIAMI BEACH provide for an annual compensation in the amount of $42,000 to all
physicians employed in the City of Miami Beach Fire Rescue Services, and compensation in
the amount of $45,000 to such physicians employed longer than one (1) year, to become
effective retroactive to October 1, 1984.
R ESO L U T10 N N O. 83-17398 is hereby rescinded.
