A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF MIAMI BEACH SUPPORTING THE MIAMI BEACH
SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA AND URGING OTHER LOCAL
GOVERNMENTS TO CONSIDER GIVING FINANCIAL
ASSISTANCE TO THE SYMPHONY.
WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Miami Beach
has demonstrated its support of the Miami Beach Symphony Orchestra
by pledging to the Orchestra, through the Special Events
Committee, the sum of $20 ,000.00; and
WHEREAS, the Miami Beach Symphony Orchestra is now
becoming the Greater Miami Symphony Orchestra and the City
Commission wishes to enhance this growth,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
MIAMI BEACH that other local governing bodies be urged to place
special items on their meeting agendas for consideration of
financial assistance to the Symphony Orchestra.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 5th day of December, 1984 .
