A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF MIAMI BEACH , FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING
SUBMISSION OF A GRANT APPLICATION TO THE
FLORIDA RECREATION DEVELOPMENT ASSISTANCE
PROGRAM REQUESTING FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE TO
DEVELOP AN ADDITIONAL OUTDOOR RECREATION
AREA TO BE LOCATED IN LUMMUS PARK ON OCEAN
DRIVE , AND AUTHORIZING THE USE OF MONIES
FROM THE YEAR NINE COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT
BLOCK GRANT AS MATCHING FUNDS FOR THE GRANT .
WHEREAS , the Florida Recreation Development Assistance
Program provides funding for projects involving "resource based"
areas , and
WHEREAS , the Lummus Park project will be a "resource
based" area devoted to development of beach access , and
WHEREAS , matching funds f or the grant are available
from Year Nine Community Development Block Grant monies :
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION
OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH :
That the Miami Beach City Commission is hereby auth-
orized to submit a grant application to the Florida Recreation
Development Assistance Program requesting financial assistance
to develop an additional outdoor recreation area in Lummus
Park on Ocean Drive , and authorizing the use of monies from
the Year Nine Community Development Block Grantas matching funds
for the grant .
