A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA,
APPROVING THE RENAMING OF JACKIE GLEASON DRIVE TO
FESTIVAL DRIVE FOR A PERIOD NOT TO EXCEED THIRTY DAYS,
SAID PERIOD TO RUN PRIOR TO AND INCLUDING THE DATES OF
THE 1985 FESTIVAL OF THE ARTS, FEBRUARY 9th AND 10th, 1985;
PROVIDING THAT THE MONTH OF FEBRUARY, 1985, BE DECLARED
FESTIVAL OF THE ARTS MONTH.
WHEREAS, the Fine Arts Board provides countless hours of service that directly
benefits the citizens and business community of Miami Beach; and
WHEREAS, the 1985 Miami Beach Festival of the Arts will be held on Jackie
Gleason Drive on February 9th and 10th, 1985; and
WHEREAS, the Festival of the Arts is a cultural arts program of major proportion,
providing thousands of citizens and tourists with art, music, and fine foods;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY
OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, that Jackie Gleason Drive, being the same street located east
of the Convention Center, be renamed Festival Drive for the period of January 17, 1985, up to
and including the dates of the Festival, February 9th and 10th, 1985.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, that the month of February be declared "Festival of the Arts"
Month.
PASSED and ADOPTED this 23rd day of January 1985
