A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION OF AN
AGREEMENT FOR PROFESSIONAL SERVICES BETWEEN THE CITY
OF MIAMI BEACH AND L. GARRY SMITH AND ASSOCIATES, INC.
WHEREAS, the City of Miami Beach recognizes and requires lobbying services on
its behalf at all Florida State Legislature Sessions and State Legislature Committees during
the term of the Professional Service Agreement; and
WHEREAS, the Consultant has agreed to supply lobbying services on behalf of
the City and to propose and/or oppose items on behalf of the Citizens of Miami Beach, so
that they may be properly represented; and
WHEREAS, the City of Miami Beach requires particular representation for
projects, programs, activities, advertising, tourism, legislation, appropriations and grants;
and
WHEREAS, the City is in a position to contract with L. Garry Smith and
Associates, Inc., to perform the foregoing services in accordance with policies, rules,
regulations, control and direction of the City.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT DULY RESOLVED THAT THE CITY COMMISSION OF
THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZES THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO AN
AGREEMENT WITH L. GARRY SMITH AND ASSOCIATES, INC., TO PROVIDE
PROFESSIONAL LOBBYING SERVICES FOR THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH FOR THE SUMS
SET FORTH IN SAID AGREEMENT.
