A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, GRANTING TO
HAVERFIELD AVIATION, INC. , A FLORIDA
CORPORATION D/B/A HAVERFIELD HELICOPTER, AN
EXCEPTION FROM THE PROVISIONS OF CITY CODE
SECTIONS 25-2 AND 25-3 (WHICH PROVIDE FOR
CERTAIN RESTRICTIONS ON THE HEIGHT, ALIGHTING
AND LANDING OF AIRCRAFT OVER THE CITY) DURING
THE SOUTH POINTE TOWERS GROUNDBREAKING FROM
MARCH 16 , 1985 THROUGH MARCH 20 , 1985.
WHEREAS, City of Miami Beach Code Sections 25-2 and 25-3
generally provide that aircraft cannot be operated at less than
one thousand fee above the City and that aircraft cannot alight or
land upon streets or water within the City; and
WHEREAS, Section 25-2 , City Code, empowers the City
Commission in special cases to grant an exception from the
provisions of said Section; and
WHEREAS, Haverfield Aviation, Inc. , a Florida
corporation d/b/a Haverfield Helicopter , 12760 S.W. 137 Avenue,
Miami , Florida 33186 , will be utilizing a helicopter in order to
transport promotional equipment which will enhance the South
Pointe Towers groundbreaking ceremonies to be held within the
City; and
WHEREAS, the South Pointe Towers groundbreaking ceremony
is a significant event indicative of sound growth and community
pride within the South Pointe section of Miami Beach; and
WHEREAS, the occasion for the transportation to be
furnished by Haverfield Aviation, Inc. , d/b/a Haverfield
Helicopter , merits an exception from the provisions of Sections
25-2 and 25-3 of the City Code; and
WHEREAS, Haverfield Aviation will be executing an
indemnity agreement and furnishing to the Insurance Manager a
certificate evidencing a minimum of Five Million ($5 ,000 ,000. 00)
Dollars general liability insurance coverage to protect the safety
of the City and its residents against liability,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT DULY RESOLVED BY THE CITY
COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH that:
1. Haverfield Aviation, Inc. , d/b/a Haverfield
Helicopter is hereby granted an exception from the limitations

contained in Sections 25-2 and 25-3 of the City Code, only for
purposes of providing non-passenger , promotional helicopter
services relative to the South Pointe Towers groundbreaking.
2. Haverfield Aviation, Inc. , d/b/a Haverfield
Helicopter will, prior to March 1, 1985 , (a) sign an indemnity
agreement prepared by the City Attorney; and (b) furnish to the
City ' s Insurance Manager a certificate of insurance evidencing at
least Five Million ($5 ,000 ,000.00) Dollars in general liability
insurance, which certificate names the City as an additional
insured.
