A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, URGING THE
FLORIDA LEGISLATURE TO APPROPRIATE MONEY TO
THE DADE COUNTY SCHOOL BOARD TO ALLOW THE
BOARD TO STUDY A PROGRAM WHICH WILL ASSIST,
TRAIN AND UPGRADE THE QUALITY OF TEACHERS IN
THE DADE COUNTY PUBLIC SCHOOLS.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF
MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA:
WHEREAS, the education of children in the City of Miami
Beach is the proper concern of this City Commission and all
citizens of this City; and
WHEREAS , students who have a positive classroom experience
and master their subject areas are more likely to function and
contribute to our City and our society in a beneficial manner;
and
WHEREAS , a City which places a high priority on education
tends to draw residents and businesses which support and promote
a community of cultural and academic excellence; and
WHEREAS , an educational system is dependent on the quality
of the individual classroom teachers and input from the Parents-
Teacher Association; and
WHEREAS , teachers can benefit from an instructional program
coordinated to their needs, subject areas, and classroom skills;

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT DULY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION
OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA that the Florida Legislature
approprate money to the Dade County Public School System to
allow them to develop a Pilot Project to assist, train and
upgrade the quality of teachers in Dade County, Florida
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 6th day of March ,
1985.
