A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA,
CALLING A PUBLIC HEARING TO CONSIDER THE
RECOMMENDATION OF THE PLANNING BOARD TO AMEND
ORDINANCE NO. 1891, THE SAME BEING THE COMPREHENSIVE
ZONING ORDINANCE, SO AS TO ESTABLISH GUIDELINES TO
REGULATE SIGNAGE ON ALL OCEANFRONT BUILDINGS ON THE
EAST SIDE OF THE BUILDING; AND THAT THE CITY CODE BE
AMENDED SO AS TO REQUIRE THAT ALL OCEANFRONT
PROPERTY OWNERS PLACE THE NAME AND ADDRESS ON THE
OCEANSIDE WALL OF THEIR BUILDINGS, WITH THE EXCEPTION
OF PROPERTIES ON OCEAN DRIVE FROM 5TH - 15TH STREETS
AND OCEAN TERRACE FROM 73RD - 75TH STREETS.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI
BEACH, FLORIDA, THAT,
WHEREAS, the Planning Board held a public hearing on March 6, 1985, for
consideration of amending Zoning Ordinance No. 1891, the same being the Comprehensive
Zoning Ordinance, so as to establish guidelines to regulate signage on all oceanfront
buildings on the east side of the building; and that the City Code be amended so as to
require that all oceanfront property owners place the name and address on the oceanside
wall of their buildings, with the exception of properties on Ocean Drive from 5th - 15th
Streets and Ocean Terrace from 73rd - 75th Streets; and
WHEREAS, at the conclusion of said public hearing, the Planning Board
unanimously recommended that the City Commission amend the Zoning Ordinance so as to
establish signage regulations for oceanfront buildings and amend the City Code to require
that all property owners place the name and address on the oceanside wall of their buildings;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT DULY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF
THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, that a Public Hearing for consideration of the
aforementioned proposed amendment to the Zoning Ordinance and City Code is hereby
called to be held before the City Commission in its chambers on the Third Floor of City
Hall, 1700 Convention Center Drive, Miami Beach, Florida, beginning at2:30 PM. on the
17th day of April , 1985, and the City Clerk is hereby authorized and directed to
publish appropriate Public Notice of said Public Hearing to be published in a newspaper of
general circulation in the City of Miami Beach, at which time and place all interested
parties will be heard.
PASSED and ADOPTED this 6th day of March 1985.
