A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
MIAMI BEACH APPROVING IN PRINCIPLE THE APPLICATIONS
FOR URBAN DEVELOPMENT ACTION GRANTS (UDAG) FROM THE
U. S. DEPARTMENT OF HOUSING AND URBAN DEVELOPMENT
FOR THE NAUTILUS BEACH HOTEL PROJECT TO PROVIDE 243
FIRST-CLASS HOTEL ROOMS, NEW RESTAURANT FACILITIES,
POOL, LOBBY AND COMMUNITY ROOMS BY RESORT HOTELS
INTERNATIONAL, INC.
WHEREAS, the City of Miami Beach is desirous of participating in the UDAG
program to enable private/public partnerships to join in the economic development of the
City; and
WHEREAS, public hearings were scheduled and held on July 8 and July 9, 1985
to provide additional opportunity for citizen comment and input regarding this UDAG
application; and
WHEREAS, it is deemed important to the success of this project to apply for an
Urban Development Action Grant from the U. S. Department of Housing and Urban
Development;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT DULY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF
THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, that the City Commission hereby approves the
filing of an application for an Urban Development Action Grant for the Nautilus Beach
Hotel Project to provide 243 first-class hotel rooms, new restaurant facilities, pool, lobby
and community rooms by Resorts Hotels International; and further authorizes the City
Manager to execute and file said application in a timely manner, providing for compliance
with applicable regulations, and allowing for adjustments to the final UDAG application.
