A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE PREPARATION AND
SUBMISSION OF A HOUSING ASSISTANCE PLAN TO THE U.S.
DEPARTMENT OF HOUSING AND URBAN DEVELOPMENT FOR
THE COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT PROGRAM.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI
BEACH, FLORIDA, THAT,
WHEREAS, the City of Miami Beach has just received official notification
from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development that a Housing
Assistance Plan (HAP) is required to be submitted prior to the Year 11 Final
Statement of Objectives, which is due August 30; and,
WHEREAS, on June 26th the City Commission adopted the Year 11 CDBG
Final Statement of Objectives and Projected Use of Funds; and,
WHEREAS, the City Commission is on recess during the month of August;
and,
WHEREAS, the preparation of the HAP is necessary to ensure that the
Department of Housing and Urban Development authorizes and approves the year 11
CDBG Program.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT DULY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION
OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, that the Department of Economic and
Community Development is authorized to develop a Housing Assistance Plan in
accordance with the July 16, 1985 HUD directive and instructions, and that the City
Manager is authorized to submit such, when complete, to the U.S. Department of
Housing and Urban Development prior to the August 30th deadline.
PASSED AND ADOPTED THIS 24th day of July, 1985.
