A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF MIAMI BEACH REQUESTING THE COOPERATION
AND INVOLVEMENT OF THE DADE LEGISLATIVE
DELEGATION IN SCHEDULING A PUBLIC HEARING IN
THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH COMMISSION CHAMBERS
FOR THE PURPOSE OF REVIEWING INSURANCE RATES
AND METHODS OF CORRECTING INEQUITIES.
WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Miami Beach
has been advised by various insurance companies which provide
coverage for the City that the rates are being significantly
increased; and
WHEREAS, such increases create a hardship on the City of
Miami Beach in view of budgetary restrictions,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF
THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH that the City Commission request the
cooperation and involvement of the Dade Legislative Delegation in
scheduling a public hearing in the Miami Beach City Commission
chambers for the purpose of reviewing insurance rates and methods
of correcting inequities.
