94-21095 ResoRESOLUTION NO. 94-21095 A RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, CALLING A PUBLIC HEARING TO CONSIDER PUBLIC COMMENT REGARDING A GROUND LEASE BETWEEN THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH AND THE MIAMI CITY BALLET, FOR THE PROPOSED MIAMI CITY BALLET HEADQUARTERS ON CONVENTION CENTER DRIVE, AND FURTHER AUTHORIZING A WAIVER OF THE ADVERTISED PUBLIC BIDDING PROCESS AND OF AN INDEPENDENT APPRAISAL OF THE FAIR MARKET RENTAL VALUE OF THE PROPERTY. WHEREAS, the Mayor and City Commission has conceptually agreed to provide a site for the proposed Miami City Ballet headquarters on Convention Center Drive; and WHEREAS, the City Attorney's Office and City Administration are currently negotiating a Lease Agreement with representatives of the Miami City Ballet; and WHEREAS, pursuant to Ordinance No. 92-2783, which establishes procedures for the sale and/or lease of City property, prior to the sale and/or lease of City property, the Mayor and City Commission shall hold a public hearing, advertised not less than fifteen (15) days prior to the hearing, in order to obtain citizen input into the proposed sale and/or lease; and WHEREAS, the Mayor and City Commission may, by a 5/7ths vote, waive the additional requirements under Ordinance No. 92-2783 requiring an advertised public bidding process pursuant to the sale and/or lease of City property, and independent appraisal of the fair market or rental value of the property. NOW, THEREFORE, COMMISSION as follows: 2 o BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY A public hearing to hear public comment regarding a ground lease between the City and Miami City Ballet for the proposed Miami City Ballet headquarters on Convention Center Drive is hereby called to be held before the Mayor and City Commission in its Chambers on the Third Floor of City Hall, 1700 Convention Center Drive, Miami Beach, Florida, on April 13 , 1994, beginning at 3:00 p.m. , and the City Clerk is hereby authorized and directed to publish appropriate public notice of the said public hearing in a newspaper of general circulation in the City of Miami Beach, at which time and place all interested parties will be heard. PASSED and ADOPTED this 1994.
