A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF MIAMI BEACH APPROVING EXECUTION OF
FIRST AMENDED INTERLOCAL AGREEMENT WITH DADE
COUNTY, FLORIDA WITH REFERENCE TO SPECIAL
OBLIGATION BONDS (MIAMI BEACH CONVENTION
CENTER EXPANSION PROJECT) .
WHEREAS, pursuant to Chapters 163 and 166 , Florida Statutes,
the City Commission has the authority to enter into Interlocal
Agreements with other public agencies; and
WHEREAS, the City Commission entered into an Interlocal
Agreement with Dade County for the purpose of financing Phase I of
the Convention Center expansion; and
WHEREAS, the parties have need to amend the Interlocal
Agreement for purposes of delineating the County' s pledge, if it
deems it necessary for the purpose of marketing the Bonds, of its
entitlement to the Local Government Half Cent Sales Tax Revenues
and all other changes necessary to ensure that in the remote
possibility of utilizing the Secondary Pledge, the County will be
repaid from future convention development tax revenues; and
WHEREAS, the Tourist and Convention Center Expansion
Authority on November 12, 1985 , recommended to the City Commission
that the Commission approve the First Amended Interlocal
Agreement,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA that the Mayor is authorized to
execute the First Amended Interlocal Agreement with Dade County,
Florida with reference to Special Obligation Bonds (Miami Beach
Convention Center Expansion Project) .
