RESOLUTION 87-18766 RESOLUTION NO. 87-18766 RESOLUTION APPOINTING BOND COUNCEL, FINANCIAL ADVISOR AND UNDERWRITERS FOR THE $3,000,000 OCEAN DRIVE IMPROVEMENT BONDS. WHEREAS, the City Commission (The "Commission") of the City of Miami Beach, Flo -ida (The "City") has authorized by Resolution Number 86-18529 on July 23, 1986, has called for an election to be held on November 4, 1986, regarding the issuance of not more than $3,000,000 in bonds for street and sidewalk improvements from 5th to 15th Street on Ocean Drive and 15th Street from Ocean Drive to Collins Avenue & Lummus Park Improvements; and, WHEREAS, the Commission of the City canvassed the Election Returns on Resolution Number 86-18674 on November 19, 1986, and verified that the Ocean Drive Bonds had received an affirmative vote by the Electorate; and, WHEREAS, the Commission of the City authorized the issuance of not more than $65,000,000 in Refunding Bonds on Resolution Number 86-18439 passed June 18, 1986, and Resolution Number 86-18514 passed July 23, 1986, which also authorized Bond Counsel , Financial Advisor and Underwriters; and, WHEREAS, the Commission of the City deems it in the best interest of the City that the $3,000,000 Ocean Drive Bonds are issued along with the series 1986 A Refunding Bonds; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, that the appointment of Greenberg, Traurig, Askew, Hoffman, Lipoff, Rosen & Quentel , P.A. , as Bond Counsel ; and the appointment of Shearson Lehman Brothers Inc. , as Financial Advisors; and the appointment of Smith Barney, Harris Upham & Co. , Inc. ; Bear Stearns & Co. , Inc. ; L.F. Rothschild, Unterberg, Towbin, Inc. ; and Prudential-Bache Securities, Inc. as Underwriters be extended to the issuance of the $3,000,000 Ocean Drive Improvement Bonds.
