A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF MIAMI BEACH , FLORIDA WAIVING
COMPETITIVE BID REQUIREMENTS AND AUTHORIZING
THE MAYOR AND CITY CLERK TO EXECUTE CONTRACTS
FOR PROFESSIONAL SERVICES AT THE BASS MUSEUM
WITH DR. MARGARITA RUSSELL ( $7 , 192 . 36 ) AND
ARCH ANGELUS STURAITIS ( $3 , 272 . 50 ) .
WHEREAS , on November 5, 1986, pursuant to Commission
Memorandum No. 724-86 , the City Commission approved appropriation
of special revenue funds from the Florida Arts Council for use by
the Bass Museum; and
WHEREAS , the Bass Museum has previously had the
opportunity to engage Dr . Margarita Russell , a visiting foreign
scholar and curator , through an arrangement with the Smithsonian
Institution, to conduct research and related activities regarding
the Bass Museum collection; and
WHEREAS, the Bass Museum wishes to engage the services
of Dr . Margarita Russell at the rate of $7 , 192 . 35 for the period
of January 1 , 1987 ( retroactive) to April 30, 1987 , and to engage
the services of Arch Angelus Sturaitis at the rate of $3 , 272 . 50
from January 1 , 1987 ( retroactive) to April 30 , 1987 ; and
WHEREAS , Professional Services and Special Events
agreements have been prepared, the City Manager has recommended
their execution and the City Attorney has approve them as to
form,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION
OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH that competitive bid requirements are
waived and the Mayor and City Clerk are authorized to execute
agreements for Professional Services relating to the Bass Museum
collection between the City of Miami Beach and Dr . Margarita
Russell and Arch Angelus Sturaitis .
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 4th day of March, 1987 .
