A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH,
FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO SERVE AS THE INTERIM
ADMINISTRATOR AND SIGNATOR FOR THE LINCOLN ROAD MANAGEMENT
PROGRAM, A SPECIAL ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT ACTIVITY FUNDED
UNDER THE YEAR 12 COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT
PROGRAM; AUTHORIZING EXECUTION OF AN AGREEMENT WITH THE
MIAMI BEACH DEVELOPMENT CORPORATION FOR ASSISTANCE WITH
SPECIAL EVENTS; AUTHORIZING REALLOCATION OF FUNDS AND ALL
NECESSARY ACTS.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA,
THAT
WHEREAS, the Miami Beach entered into an agreement with the Lincoln Road
Development Corporation, Inc. on October 1, 1986, for the purpose of funding the
Community Development Block Grant Lincoln Road Management Program; and
WHEREAS, the director of the Lincoln Road Managment Program has resigned,
and efforts are underway to secure a new director; and
WHEREAS, the Lincoln Road Development Corporation, Inc. has authorized the
City of Miami Beach City Manager to serve as interim administrator and signator for the
program, until such time as a new director is hired; and
WHEREAS, the City of Miami Beach is desirous of entering into an agreement
with the Miami Beach Development Corporation for administrative assistance relative to
special events for the Lincoln Road Management Program; and
WHEREAS, in order to disburse applicable expenditures, it is necessary to
unencumber the remaining funds, on a temporary basis, from the Lincoln Road Development
Corporation purchase order, leaving such funds on the applicable CDBG Year 12 Lincoln
Road Management Program account; and
WHEREAS, the City Commission deems it to be in the best interests of the City
and its residents and citizens that said action be taken;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT DULY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF
THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, that the Mayor and City Clerk are hereby
authorized and directed on behalf of the City to designate the City Manager as the interim
administrator and signator for the Lincoln Road Managment Program, and hereby authorize
and direct the City Manager to enter into an agreement with the Miami Beach Development
Corporation for administrative assistance with special events for said program, and funds
for this purpose which were originally encumbered on behalf of the Lincoln Road
Development Corporation shall be reallocated to the program, and all acts necessary to
effectuate this result are hereby authorized.
