RESOLUTION 87-18837 RESOLUTION NO. 87-18837 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, AMENDING THE CONTRACT BETWEEN PSYCHOLOGICAL ASSOCIATES OF MIAMI AND THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FOR THE PROFESSIONAL SERVICES FOR PSYCHOLOGICAL SCREENING OF POLICE, FIRE AND OTHER CITY EMPLOYEES AND AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR AND THE CITY CLERK TO EXECUTE THE NECESSARY DOCUMENTS. WHEREAS, the City of Miami Beach entered into a contract for professional services with Psychological Associates of Miami in November of 1984 for the purpose of providing psychological screening for Police, Fire and other City employees; and WHEREAS, it was the intent of the parties to provide a fee structure which was in accord with other municipal contracts for the same service. NOW, THEREFORE BE IT DULY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, that: 1. The contract between Psychological Associates of Miami and the City of Miami Beach is hereby amended by substituting the following for paragraph 4 of the contract. Paragraph 4. Budget Limitations. A fixed fee for testing per person of $185.00. This fee is effective for all services provided after December 15, 1986. It is the intent of both parties for subsequent adjustments to be made to the fixed fee in accord with other municipal contracts. The parties agree that the City is a governmental entity and subject to the appropriation of funds by its legislative body in an amount sufficient to allow continuation of its performance in accordance with the terms and conditions of this Contract. If, due to lack of adequate funding for the performance of this Contract, the services provided for by Psychological Associates of Miami are abandoned or terminated, then in the event, the City may cancel this Contract as provided herein. The City of Miami Beach shall issue Purchase Order Releases providing all services required under this Contract. 2. The City of Miami Beach hereby authorizes the Mayor, in his absence, the Vice-Mayor, to execute any documents for the above amendment to the Contract. 3. The above substitution to the Contract constitutes the first amendment to the Contract. PASSED and ADOPTED this 6th day of May 1987. Pa insIf 4 .4/'^ City Manager NW SUBJECT: AMENDMENT 0 CONTRACT BETWEEN THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH AND PR/PAM FOR PROFESSIONAL SERVICES FOR PSYCHOLOGICAL SCREENING OF EMPLOYEES On November 15, 1984, the City entered into a three-year contract with PR/PAM, a joint venture, to provide psychological screening of Police, Fire and other City employees. The intent of both parties when entering into the contract was to provide a fee structure which was in accord with other municipal contracts for this type of professional service. Effective December 15, 1986, the City of Miami Beach's fee structure for the professional service was less than that being paid by other municipalities. ADMINISTRATION RECOMMENDATION: The Administration recommends the approval of the attached resolution amending the contract between the City of Miami Beach and PR/PAM, a joint venture, to provide for a fee of $185 per person.
