A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, AMENDING
RESOLUTION 83-17447 CREATING THE COMMUNITY
BENEFIT COMMITTEE FOR THE PERFORMING ARTS
PROVIDING THAT A PORTION OF THE $1.00 TOPA
SURCHARGE MONIES BE USED FOR THE REINSTATEMENT
OF THE BAND FOR THE WEDNESDAY SOCIAL DANCE AT
OCEAN FRONT AUDITORIUM FOR FISCAL YEAR 1986 -
1987 .
WHEREAS , the Ocean Front Auditorium Wednesday night
social dance has recently been closed to live entertainment; and
WHEREAS, there is a large public demand for such
entertainment; and
WHEREAS, the Advisory Board known as Community Benefit
Committee for The Performing Arts has recommended that a portion
of the $1. 00 TOPA surcharge monies be allocated to provide Miami
Beach Senior Citizens live entertainment for the Ocean Front
Wednedsay night social dance, during fiscal year 1986 1987 and
not to exceed $11,808;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT DULY RESOLVED BY THE CITY
COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, that Resolution
83-17447, creating the Community Benefit Committee for the
Performing Arts, be amended to provide that a portion of the $1.00
TOPA surcharge monies be used for the reinstatement of the band at
the Wednesday Social Dance at Ocean Front Auditorium, during the
fiscal year 1986 - 1987 and not to exceed $11,808 .
PASSED and ADOPTED this 3rd day of June ,
1987.

RESOLUTION #83-17447 TO PROVIDE MIAMI BEACH SENIOR CITIZENS_
LIVE ENTERAINMENT AT WEDNESDAY NIGHT SOCIAL DANCE
At the Community Benefit Committee Meeting of May 14, 1987 a motion
was made and seconded that Resolution #83-17447 be amended to read as
follows: "a portion of the $1.00 TOPA surcharge monies be allocated to
provide Miami Beach Senior Citizens live entertainment for the Ocean
Front Wednesday night social dance during fiscal year 1986-87 and not to
exceed $11,808." The motion was passed with Ben Rosenthal voting against
the Motion.
ADMINISTRATION RECOMMENDATION: Approve Community Benefit
Committee's motion to amend Resolution #83-17447 to read as follows: "a
portion of the $1.00 TOPA surcharge monies be allocated to provide Miami
Beach Senior Citizens live entertainment for the Ocean Front Wednesday
night social dance during fiscal year 1986-87 and not to exceed $11,808."
