A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF MIAMI BEACH AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR AND
THE CITY CLERK TO EXECUTE AN AGREEMENT
BETWEEN THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH AND GERARDO
SANCHEZ ,THE OWNER OF THE WHITEHART HOTEL,
LOCATED AT 315 OCEAN DRIVE, SPECIFYING TERMS,
CONDITIONS AND TIME SCHEDULE TO BE COMPLIED
WITH IN REPAIRING AND REFURBISHING THE
WHITEHART HOTEL.
WHEREAS, the Dade County Unsafe Structures Board by Order
dated October 9 , 1985, Case Number MB 85-11 , ruled that the owner
of the subject property located at 315 Ocean Drive, Miami Beach,
and known as the Whitehart Hotel was to be given sixty ( 60) days
to; obtain engineer ' s report, architect ' s sealed plans, obtain a
permit through a licensed contractor , and to begin repairs a n d
complete repairs within 180 days of obtaining permit; and that
the City shall demolish same should the owner fail to comply with
said ruling; and
WHEREAS , the owner of the Whitehart Hotel has failed to
comply with the aforesaid Order of the Dade County Unsafe
Structures Board; and
WHEREAS, an Agreement has been proposed between the City of
Miami Beach and Gerardo Sanchez specifying terms, conditions and
a time schedule for the repair and refurbishment of the Whitehart
Hotel ; and
WHEREAS, the City Manager has recommended execution of the
Agreement and the City Attorney has approved it as to form,
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF MIAMI BEACH that the Mayor and the City Clerk a r e
authorized to execute the attached Agreement between the City of
Miami Beach and Gerardo Sanchez specifying terms, conditions and
time schedule to be complied with for the repair and
