A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING THE CITY
MANAGER TO ESTABLISH A NEW CHARGE CODE IN
SPECIAL REVENUE FUND 199, TO OPERATE PROGRAMS
FOR VICTIMS' ASSISTANCE, IF SAID FUNDS ARE GRANTED
BY THE STATE OF FLORIDA, DEPARTMENT OF LABOR,
VICTIMS' ASSISTANCE GRANT PROGRAM (VOCA), AND TO
APPROPRIATE SUCH FUNDS WHEN AVAILABLE.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH,
FLORIDA:
WHEREAS, the City Administration recommends that the City apply for
grant funds from the State of Florida, Department of Labor, Victims' Assistance
Program (VOCA); and
WHEREAS, a special revenue account is required to be established to
facilitate the program, if the City is awarded the grant; and
WHEREAS, it is essential that the funds received by the City be
appropriated for programs approved by the State of Florida through the Victims'
Assistance Grant Program;
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT DULY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION
OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, that the City Manager is hereby
authorized to establish a new charge code in Special Revenue Fund 199, to be used to
operate the Victims' Assistance Grant Program, if the funds are granted by the State
of Florida, and to appropriate such funds when received.
