A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASE OF 223
PARKING METERS, AND THE INSTALLATION OF THOSE PARKING
METERS IN SPECIFIC LOCATIONS ON COLLINS AVENUE FROM THE
4200 BLOCK THROUGH THE 6800 BLOCK , AND REQUESTING
PERMISSION FROM THE STATE OF FLORIDA TO INSTALL SUCH
PARKING METERS ON COLLINS AVENUE.
WHEREAS, a number of citizens have approached the Administration with
inquiries regarding parking along Collins Avenue; and
WHEREAS , the Administration directed Metered Parking to survey the
following areas along Collins Avenue to determine the feasibility of
installation of parking meters : 4200 through 4400 blocks, 4500 and 4600
blocks, and 6500 through 6800 blocks; and
WHEREAS , the survey conducted by Metered Parking indicates that
installation of meters is feasible in the above stated areas and would be
in the best interest of citizens visiting these areas; and
WHEREAS, Metered Parking has determined that 223 parking meters must
be purchased for the project ; and
WHEREAS, the State of Florida requires that the City Commission pass a
resolution indicating their desire to install parking meters on Collins
Avenue .
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, hereby authorizes the purchase of 223 parking meters
and the installation of those parking meters in specific locations along
Collins Avenue from the 4200 Block through the 6800 Block , and requests
permission from the State of Florida to install such parking meters on
Collins Avenue.
