A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, PROVIDING
FOR THE 7TH AMENDMENT TO THE FY 1986/87
GENERAL FUND BUDGET; MAKING PROVISIONS
FOR: 1) TRANSFERRING THE PARKING ENFORCE—
MENT AND COIN COUNTING FUNCTIONS FROM
METERED PARKING FUND TO THE POLICE AND
FINANCE DEPARTMENTS IN THE GENERAL FUND,
AND 2) INCREASING THE MANAGEMENT FEE
CHARGED BY THE GENERAL FUND TO OFFSET THE
INCREASED COSTS. (As per Comm. Memo #590-87 attached)
WHEREAS, transferring the Parking Enforcement function from the
Metered Parking Department to the Services Division of the Police
Department will provide for increased effectiveness of parking
enforcement ; and,
WHEREAS, transferring of the coin counting function from the
Metered Parking Department to the Revenue Division of the Finance
Department will provide for improved revenue accountability; and,
WHEREAS, such transfer of functions to General Fund Departments
will be offset by an increased Management Fee paid to the General
Fund by the Metered Parking Department ; and,
WHEREAS, such transfer will not increase the FY 1986/87 Budget
for the Metered Parking Department .
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT DULY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, that the City Commission of the City of
Miami Beach hereby amends the FY 1986/87 General Fund Budget for the
City of Miami Beach, by amending revenue appropriations as follows :

Beach hereby amends the FY 1986/87 General Fund Budget for the City
of Miami Beach, by amending expenditure appropriations as follows :

SUBJECT: 7TH AMENDMENT TO T , , 986/87 GENERAL FUND BUDGET

The 7th amendment to the FY 1986-87 General Fund Budget will
provide for the following:
1 Transfer of the parking enforcement function from the
Metered Parking Department to the Services Division
of the Police Department. ($319,835)
Transfer of the Metered Parking coin counting
function from the Metered Parking Department to the
Revenue Division of the Finance Department . ($53, 371)
2 Increase the Management Fee paid by the Metered
Parking Fund to the General Fund to offset increased
costs resulting from the above transfers. ($373, 206)
The proposed change in the operational procedures of the Metered
Parking System will not result in any overall cost increases to the
City's General Fund.
ADMINISTRATION RECOMMENDATION
The Administration recommends that the City Commission adopt the
attached resolution providing for the 7th amendment to the FY
1986/87 General Fund Budget. r
