A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH,
FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING THE STATE OF FLORIDA DEPARTMENT OF
TRANSPORTATION TO CONSTRUCT AND MAINTAIN OR IMPROVE A PORTION
OF 81ST STREET BRIDGE IN DADE COUNTY, FLORIDA.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA:
WHEREAS, it is proposed by the State of Florida, through the STATE OF
FLORIDA DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION, to locate, construct and maintain or
improve a portion of 81st Street Bridge in Dade County, Florida; and
WHEREAS, a portion of the lands involved and necessary to said project
are owned by the City of Miami Beach; and
WHEREAS, on behalf of the State of Florida a request has been made for a
conveyance of a portion of said lands of this City; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT DULY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY
OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, that the City Commission authorize the State of
Florida Department of Transportation to construct and maintain or improve a
portion of 81st Street Bridge and that a conveyance of a portion of City
lands be granted, and authorize and direct its Mayor and City Clerk to
execute the necessary instruments to effect such conveyance.
PASSED and ADOPTED this 16th day of September, 1987.

SUBJECT: CONVEYANCE OF BAY BOTTOM LAND FOR REPLACEMENT OF THE
81ST STREET BRIDGE ONTO BISCAYNE POINT a
The 81st Street Bridge onto Biscayne Point is owned by the City of Miami
Beach. The Florida Department of Transportation will replace this bridge in
the near future under its Program of "Replacement of Off-System Bridges".
The entire cost of bridge replacement will be paid for by the State, and in
order for the State to replace the bridge it must have title to the bay
bottom land of which it crosses.
Attached is a Resolution and Deed conveying the bay bottom under the 81st
Street Bridge to DOT.
The City Attorney has reviewed the documents and advised they are in order
for adoption.
ADMINISTRATION RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended that the Commission adopt the attached Resolution
conveying the bay bottom land to the Department of Transportation.
