A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF
THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA,
AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR AND THE CITY
CLERK TO EXECUTE A LEASE AGREEMENT
BETWEEN THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, AND THE
STATE OF FLORIDA, DEPARTMENT OF HIGHWAY
SAFETY AND MOTOR VEHICLES FOR THE USE
OF THE ENTIRE BUILDING LOCATED AT 8720
COLLINS AVENUE FOR A ONE-YEAR PERIOD
COMMENCING ON FEBRUARY 1, 1988
WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Miami
Beach, Florida, has been advised that the State of Florida,
Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles , desires to lease
certain premises and facilities of the City located at 8720
Collins Avenue for the purpose of operating a drivers license
examination station and for no other purposes whatsoever ;
and
WHEREAS, a monthly rental in amount of $ 1 , 963 . 33 per
month, or $23 , 559 . 96 per annum, has been agreed upon, and said
rental payment would represent a fair return to the City of Miami
Beach, i . e . , $9 . 64 per square foot per year ;
and
WHEREAS, term of the lease will be for one year
commencing on February 1 , 1988 , and it is anticipated that the
State of Florida, Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles
will abide by all the terms and conditions of the Lease ;
and
WHEREAS, an appropriate lease agreement has been
approved as to form by the City Attorney ;
and
WHEREAS, THE City Commission has been advised of and is
familiar with the terms and provisions of the said lease agreement
and deems it to be in the best interest of the City to authorize
the execution of the said lease agreement ,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT DULY RESOLVED BY THE CITY
COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, that the Mayor
and the City Clerk are hereby authorized to execute the lease
agreement between the City of Miami Beach and the State of Florida,
Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles for the drivers
license examination station located at 8720 Collins Avenue, Miami
Beach, Florida .
