A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA , AUTHORIZING
ACCEPTANCE OF AN OFFER OF SALE FROM THE
BROADMOOR HOTEL IN THE AMOUNT OF $350 , 000 . 00
FOR THE ACQUISITION OF LOT 3 , BLOCK 8 ,
CORRECTED PLAT OF ALTOS DEL MAR NO. 1 , PLAT
BOOK 31 , PAGE 40 , PUBLIC RECORDS OF DADE
COUNTY , FLORIDA AND THE ATLANTIC WAY RIGHT-
OF-WAY, FOR THE PROPOSED PARKING LOT AT 75TH
STREET AND OCEAN TERRACE AND APPROPRIATE
$350 , 000 . 00 FOR THE PROPOSED ACQUISITION FROM
THE METERED PARKING FUND.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI
BEACH, FLORIDA;
WHEREAS , the Finance Committee was informed by the
Administration that the owners of the Broadmoor Hotel desired to
sell , to the City of Miami Beach, property located at 75th Street
and Ocean Terrace, which is adjacent to the municipality owned
parking lot at the "Library Facility" on 75th Street and Ocean
Terrace; and
WHEREAS , the acquisition of this property would allow for
the maximizing of parking spaces in the existing adjoining
municipal parking lot in conjunction with the development of new
parking spaces; and
WHEREAS, the City Administration has negotiated the purchase
price of $350 , 000 . 00 for the described property; and
WHEREAS , the Finance Committee , at its October 1 , 1987
meeting , by motion , recommended that the City acquire the
property offered for sale by the Broadmoor Hotel .
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA THAT;
1 . The recommendation of the City Manager and staff as to
the purchase price of $350 , 000 . 00 for LOT 3 , BLOCK 8 , corrected
Plat of ALTOS DEL MAR NO. 1 , Plat Book 31 , Page 40 of the Public
Records Dade County Florida and the Atlantic right-of-way for the
proposed parking lot at 75th Street and Ocean Terrace is hereby
accepted and approved .
2 . Funds in the amount of $350 , 000 . 00 be appropriated from
the Metered Parking Fund.
PASSED AND ADOPTED THIS 7th day of October . 1987 .
