A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, HONORING NOBEL PEACE PRIZE
WINNER DR. ELIE WIESEL FOR HIS HUMANITARIAN STRUGGLES.
WHEREAS, Dr. Elie Wiesel, "Messenger to Mankind", won the Nobel Peace Prize for
1986; and
WHEREAS, this celebrated award acknowledges years of devotion by this eminent
poet, teacher, author and lecturer; and
WHEREAS, Dr. Elie Wiesel, a Holocaust survivor, carries a message of peace,
atonement and human dignity to the world, and
WHEREAS, this great man is to be applauded by the Community of Miami Beach and
peaceful peoples around the world.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT DULY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, that Dr. Elie Wiesel be honored for his humanitarian struggles.
PASSED and ADOPTED this 18th day of February 1987.
