A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, REQUESTING THAT THE
METROPOLITAN DADE COUNTY COMMISSION HONOR THE
APPROVAL OF A PLAQUE FOR MRS. ROSEBELLE SCHER ROTH
TO BE PLACED AT THE MAIN BRANCH OF THE MIAMI BEACH
LIBRARY.
WHEREAS, the City of Miami Beach Library Board of Trustees, on December 27, 1979,
approved a plaque to honor the donation of books given to the Library in memory of
Rosebelle Scher Roth; and
WHEREAS, the plaque was never placed in the Library, the City of Miami Beach
Commission reaffirmed and approved the placement and wording of the plaque on
September 17, 1986; and,
WHEREAS, the Dade County Library Department and the Dade County Library
Advisory Board have not allowed Mr. Burnett Roth to place the plaque in the Main Branch of
the Miami Beach Library.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT DULY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, that the City of Miami Beach Commission request the Board of
County Commissioners to direct the County Administration to place the plaque in memory
of Rosebelle Scher Roth, approved by the Miami Beach City Commission prior to the City
merging its Library System with the County operations, in a prominent place at the Main
Branch of the Miami Beach Library.
PASSED and ADOPTED this 18th day of Nayembei 1987.
