A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, EXPRESSING THE CITY'S SUPPORT FOR
THE CITY OF HIALEAH'S REQUEST FOR HIALEAH PARK TO
SECURE THE MIDDLE RACING DATES
WHEREAS, the City of Miami Beach and City of Hialeah share a
mutual interest in economic development activities within the South Florida
area, and;
WHEREAS, Hialeah Park is an important element in producing
positive results in terms of commerce and tourism, and;
WHEREAS, Hialeah Park has had a long history of providing
horseracing the "Sport of Kings", and;
WHEREAS, Hialeah Park is seeking the middle racing dates of the
Florida Winter Season, so that Hialeah Park might remain profitable and open,
and;
WHEREAS, the City of Hialeah has sought the City of Miami Beach's
support in being granted the middle racing dates.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT DULY RESOLVED BY THE CITY
COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, that the City of
Miami Beach supports the City of Hialeah's request that Hialeah Park be granted
the middle racing dates.
