Par ns VAMP City Manager / - SUBJECT: CHANGE ORDER NO. 2 TO THE BORRELLI-F L-BLITSTEIN CONTRACT FOR THE STEPHEN MUSS GREATER MINI AND THE BEACHES CO ION CENTER EXPANSION PROJECT When the City was in the process of negotiating the contract for the west wraparound, it was recognized that because of budget limitations, certain features that the City wanted to achieve may have to be done as additive alternates to the contract. In this way, the City could proceed with construction and give itself the option to accomplish additional features if funds were available. For the past several months, these negotiations have been in process and have now been finalized as the following items: Estimated Additional Construction Fee Cost 1 . Two Bus canopies $15 , 000 $250 , 000 2 . New store fronts & $ 6 , 000 $ 90 , 000 glass doors to match new east side 3 . Dressing rooms $ 3 , 600 $ 50 , 000 4 . Meeting room divisions $15 , 000 $250 , 000 as part of construction documents , with doors as additive alternates . 5 . New traffic controls at $10 ,700 To be determined by 18th St. & Washington Ave. unit prices already established With these items appearing as additive alternates, we feel very comfortable in having sufficient funding for the base bid and when prices are determined for the above items, be in the position of determining their priority. We will also provide verbiage in the contract to allow us time to find additional funding for the alternates if necessary. ADMINISTRATION RECOMMENDATION The Administration recommends the approval of Change Order No. 2 to the Agreement between the City of Miami Beach and the Architect for the expansion of the Stephen Muss Greater Miami and the Beaches Convention Center, with the funds to be appropriated from Bond Fund 358 , Convention Center Expansion. 12 RWP:VG:ap Attachment - -. f - - : , ,. -. . . . . :.i ,r, ` ,rE"._ • AGENDA _ ; _ ,_ .
