A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING THE
CITY MANAGER TO OPEN TWO GRANT ACCOUNTS IN
THE CITY'S GENERAL TRUST FUND FOR THE PURPOSE
OF PROVIDING A MEANS TO PROCESS FINANCIAL
TRANSACTIONS RELATED TO GRANTS AWARDED THE
BASS MUSEUM OF ART BY NEA AND THE STATE OF
FLORIDA
WHEREAS, the Bass Museum of Art has been awarded a grant of
$252 , 000 from the Florida Department of State Division of
Cultural Affairs, to set up a Development Office to raise funds
for the expansion of the Museum; and
WHEREAS, the Bass Museum of Art has been awarded a grant of
$25, 000 from the National Endowment for the Arts to support
publication of a comprehensive Bass Collection catalogue; and
WHEREAS, all expenditures must receive prior authorization
from the Office of Management and Budget to ensure compliance
with a proposed operating budget;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT DULY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION
OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, that the City Manager be
authorized and directed to open a grant account in the City's
General Trust Fund for the Bass Museum and appropriate $252, 000
thereto; and
BE IT ALSO DULY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY
OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, that the City Manager be authorized and
directed to open a grant account in the City's General Trust Fund
for the Bass Museum and appropriate $25, 000 thereto; and
BE IT ALSO DULY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY
OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, that all expenditures receive prior
authorization from the Office of Management and Budget and must
be in accordance with the operating budgets for the respective
grants.

AWARDED THE BASS MUSEUM OF ART BY NEA AND
THE STATE OF FLORIDA
The Bass Museum has been awarded a grant of $252 , 000 from the
Florida Department of State Division of Cultural Affairs . The
funds will be used to set up a Development Office -- hiring staff,
obtaining a modular building -- in order to raise funds for the
expansion of the Museum.
The Bass Museum has been awarded a grant of $25 , 000 from the
National Endowment of Arts to support publication of the comprehensive
catalogue of the Bass Museum' s painting and textile collections .
ADMINISTRATIVE RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended that the City Commission adopt the attached
resolution authorizing the City Manager to open a grant account
for each of the above, appropriating $252 , 000 for a Development
Office and $25 , 000 for catalogue publication respectively.
