A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF MIAMI BEACH FLORIDA AMENDING CITY OF
MIAMI BEACH RESOLUTION NO. 87-19007 SO AS TO
CHANGE THE NAME OF THE SUBJECT EMINENT DOMAIN
PROJECT FROM THE SOUTH BEACH ELEMENTARY
SCHOOL PROJECT TO THE SOUTH POINTE ELEMENTARY
SCHOOL PROJECT, IN RECOGNITION OF THE ACTIONS
OF THE DADE COUNTY SCHOOL BOARD RENAMING SAID
SCHOOL.
WHEREAS, in City of Miami Beach Resolution No. 87-19007 , the
City Commission of the City of Miami Beach declared acquisition
of those properties identified and described as Lots 1 through 8 ,
Block 100 and Lot 1 and a portion of Lot 2 , Block 101, Ocean
Beach Addition No. 3 , as recorded in Plat Book 2 , at Page 81 of
the Public Records of Dade County, Florida, to be a public
necessity for the project known as the South Beach Elementary
School Project, and further authorized the acquisition of said
properties by purchase, donation or the filing of eminent domain
proceedings and declaration of taking as necessary; and
WHEREAS, in consideration of the City acquiring said
properties, the School Board of Dade County, Florida agreed to
reopen South Beach Elementary School ; and
WHEREAS, on January 20, 1988 , the Dade County School Board
renamed South Beach Elementary School to South Pointe Elementary
School; and
WHEREAS, in recognition of the aforementioned actions of the
Dade County School Board, the name of the subject eminent domain
project is hereby changed from the South Beach Elementary School
Project to the South Pointe Elementary School Project; and
WHEREAS, all other matters stated in City of Miami Beach
Resolution No. 87-19007 shall remain in full force and effect.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT DULY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION
OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, that City of Miami Beach
Resolution No. 87-19007 is hereby amended so as to recognize the
change in name of the project known as the South Beach Elementary
School Project to the South Pointe Elementary School Project, all
other matters in City of Miami Beach Resolution No. 87-19007 to
remain in full force and effect.
