A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA REQUESTING THAT
THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH IN COOPERATION WITH
THE METROPOLITAN DADE COUNTY PORT AUTHORITY
CREATE STANDARDS OF OPERATION FOR HEALTH,
SAFETY AND WELFARE OF THE PORT OPERATIONS ON
TERMINAL ISLAND.
WHEREAS, the port located at Terminal Island located in the
City of Miami Beach would be more efficiently run and it would be
in the best interest of the health, safety and welfare of the
citizens of Miami Beach if standards of operation for health,
safety and welfare were established by the City of Miami Beach,
in concert with the Metropolitan Dade County Port Authority; and
WHEREAS, the City Commission requests the City Manager and
City Attorney to determine appropriate standards for port
operations located at Terminal Island and requests the assistance
of the Metropolitan Dade County Port Authority in determining
appropriate standards.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT DULY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF
THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, that
1. The City Manager and City Attorney are directed to determine
appropriate standards of operation for health, safety and welfare
of the port operations on Terminal Island.
2 . The City Commission requests the assistance of Metropolitan
Dade County Port Authority in accomplishing the above directive.
PASSED and ADOPTED this 15th day of June , 1988 .
