A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, APPROVING A LEASE AGREEMENT
BETWEEN THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH AND THE CONCERT
ASSOCIATION OF GREATER MIAMI, INC., FOR THE LEASE OF
THE COLONY THEATER FOR A PERIOD OF THREE YEARS AT A •
SUBSIDY OF $90,000 PER YEAR, WITH AN ADDITIONAL TERM OF
THREE YEARS TO BE NEGOTIATED AT THE REDUCED SUBSIDY
RATE AND AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE THE LEASE
ON BEHALF OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH
WHEREAS, the City of Miami Beach is the owner of a certain parcel of property
known as the Colony Theater, located at 1040 Lincoln Road; and
WHEREAS, the City of Miami Beach is desirous of using this property for a performing
arts center; and,
WHEREAS, Concert Association of Greater Miami, Inc., was the successful proposer
for the lease and operation of the Colony Theater as a performing arts center.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT DULY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, that in consideration of the mutual covenants contained in the
attached lease, the City of Miami Beach Commission approves the lease agreement between
the City of Miami Beach and Concert Association of Greater Miami, Inc., and authorizes the
Mayor to execute the lease on behalf of the City of Miami Beach.
