A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, RENAMING THE MIAMI BEACH
RECREATIONAL YOUTH CENTER IN HONOR OF
SCOTT RAKOW
WHEREAS, Scott Rakow of the City of Miami Beach Police Department
grew up in the City of Miami Beach; and
WHEREAS, Scott Rakow spent many hours of his youth both working at and
playing in the Miami Beach Recreational Youth Center; and,
WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Miami Beach is desirous of honoring
Detective Rakow for his courageous work in law enforcement and his years of service to
both the City of Miami Beach Recreational Division and the Police Department.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT DULY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, that the City of Miami Beach Commission adopts the
recommendation of the Rules and Special Events Committee to rename the City of Miami
Beach Recreational Youth Center in honor of Scott Rakow.
PASSED and ADOPTED this 27th day of July 1988.
