RESOLUTION 88-19356 RESOLUTION NO. 88-19356 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, URGING GOVERNOR MARTINEZ, THE STATE CABINET, AND THE STATE LEGISLATURE TO ENACT LAWS GOVERNING THE LICENSING OF BOAT OPERATORS IN THE STATE OF FLORIDA. WHEREAS, the State of Florida is surrounded by waterways, thus, resulting in the proliferation of boats on said waters; and WHEREAS, the presence of novice boaters has resulted in a dangerous situation wherein the number of boat accidents resulting from improper operation of watercraft has reached a near-crisis level ; and WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Miami Beach believes that greater safety on the waterways may be achieved via the enactment of laws governing the licensing of boaters in the State of Florida. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA that the Governor, State Cabinet and State Legislature enact laws governing the licensing of boaters in the State of Florida.
