RESOLUTION 88-19360 RESOLUTION NO. 88-19360 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH OPPOSING THE PROPOSED DADE COUNTY ROAD IMPACT FEE ORDINANCE BECAUSE OF THE ADVERSE IMPACT UPON FUTURE DEVELOPMENT IN THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH. WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners for Dade County is considering a Road Impact Fee Ordinance which would assess very substantial additional fees upon building permits in the City of Miami Beach for the purpose of building and improving Dade County roads; and WHEREAS, the assessment of such fees for road impact in addition to existing City of Miami Beach Building Department fees could severely impede progress being made in the redevelopment of Miami Beach; and WHEREAS, the future growth of the City of Miami Beach requires that the City encourage developers and owners, and that they be assessed reasonable fees for redeveloping their properties; and WHEREAS, the road impact fees proposed in the Dade County Ordinance represents a unreasonable imposition upon the developers and owners in the City of Miami Beach; and WHEREAS, the road impact fees proposed in the Dade County Ordinance would create severe economic restraints upon future redevelopment projects.
