A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA; AUTHORIZING EXECUTION OF AN
AGREEMENT WITH BERTHA C. CASAIS, FOR THE
RETENTION OF HER SERVICES AS THE DIRECTOR OF THE
MIAMI BEACH ASSISTANCE PROGRAM (MAP) FOR THE CITY
OF MIAMI BEACH.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI
BEACH, FLORIDA:
WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Miami Beach has
determined that it is necessary to employ the professional services of a Miami
Beach Assistance Program Director for the City of Miami Beach; and
WHEREAS, the City has budgeted funds through the City's Community
Development Block Grant Program for compensation of said Miami Beach
Assistance Program Director; and
WHEREAS, the City Manager recommends to the City Commission that the
City enter into an Agreement with Bertha C. Casais, for the period of one year
beginning October 1, 1988 and ending September 30, 1989, in the amount of
twenty three thousand four hundred eighty five dollars ($23,485) to be paid on a
bi-weekly basis for a minimum of 37.5 hours per week; providing that aforesaid
individual provides certain social services for the City of Miami Beach as per
agreement; and
WHEREAS, the City Commission, being familiar with the provisions of said
Agreement, deems it to be in the best interests of the City and its citizens and
residents to enter into said Agreement;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT DULY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION
OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, that the Mayor and City Clerk be
and they are hereby authorized and directed to execute said Agreement with
Bertha C. Casais, in the name of and on behalf of the City, and that the
disbursing officers of the City be and they are hereby authorized and directed to
disburse the monies required by the terms of said Agreement from Community
Development Block Grant funds available for said purpose.
PASSED AND ADOPTED THIS 5th day of October 1988.
