A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF
THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA,
AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR AND CITY CLERK TO
EXECUTE A WRITTEN AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE
CITY OF MIAMI BEACH AND THE DISTRICT
BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF MIAMI DADE COMMUNITY
COLLEGE FOR PARAMEDIC INSTRUCTION AND
TRAINING FACILITIES ON MIAMI BEACH.
WHEREAS, the City of Miami Beach and The District Board of
Trustees of Miami Dade Community College have had a continuing
verbal Agreement to provide paramedic instruction and training
facilities on Miami Beach for many years; and
WHEREAS, the City of Miami Beach and The District Board of
Trustees of Miami Dade Community College recognize that the
public interest is served by ensuring a continuing source of
competent health care professionals; and
WHEREAS, The District Board of Trustees of Miami Dade
Community College recognizes that practical training and exposure
to pre-hospital emergency care and transportation services
through clinical experience at the City of Miami Beach Fire
Department is beneficial to students enrolled in its Emergency
Medical Services Program; and
WHEREAS, the City of Miami Beach recognizes the need to
train allied health personnel and the need for the necessary
facilities for said clinical experience; and
WHEREAS, it is in the best interests of the citizens of the
City of Miami Beach to enter into a written agreement with The
District Board of Trustees of Miami Dade Community College for
the above-stated purposes,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF MIAMI BEACH that it hereby authorizes the execution of an
Agreement between the City of Miami Beach and The District Board
of Trustees of Miami Dade Community College for paramedic
instruction and training facilities on Miami Beach.
