RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI
BEACH, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING THE APPLICATION FOR THE
FUNDING OF A GRANT FROM THE STATE OF FLORIDA
DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH AND REHABILITATIVE SERVICES FOR
THE CONTROL, SUPERVISION AND ASSISTANCE OF JUVENILES
IN NEED.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH,
FLORIDA;
WHEREAS, the State of Florida, Department of Health and Rehabilitative Services
has available funding and is seeking applications from cities, such as Miami Beach to
provide for assistance in dealing with the control, supervision and assistance of juveniles
at risk.
WHEREAS, the City of Miami Beach is desirous of submitting an application for
continued funding in order to provide these services to juveniles in the City of Miami
Beach in the amount of $90,000.00.
WHEREAS, the final grant amount will be negotiated between the City of Miami
Beach and the State of Florida Department of HRS;
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT DULY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, that the final grant offered from the State of
Florida, Department of Health and Rehabilitative Services (HRS), be accepted; and that
the Mayor and the City Clerk be authorized and directed to execute the two (2) contracts
to provide assistance and control services to thirty (30) juveniles who are considered to be
at risk.
