A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
MIAMI BEACH AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR AND THE CITY
CLERK TO EXECUTE AN AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CITY OF
MIAMI BEACH AND TPF&C, A TOWERS PERRIN COMPANY,
FOR PROVIDING EMPLOYEE BENEFIT CONSULTING SERVICES
FOR THE CITY
WHEREAS, City is desirous of retaining the services of a
professional consulting firm to provide professional employee benefit
consulting services for the immediate, short term need of preparing the
required documentation and bid specifications for the group indemnity
contract, and the group practice association model health maintenance
organization, and the possible long term need of providing assistance
with special ad-hoc projects as determined by the City; and
WHEREAS, City released Request for Proposals No. 45-88/89 on
November 9 , 1988 , received five qualified proposals, formed the
Administration Selection Committee which interviewed and evaluated the
proposers on December 19, 1988 ; and
WHEREAS, on December 21, 1988, City Commission placed the
three top scoring proposers in rank order and authorized the
Administration to negotiate a firm contract; and
WHEREAS, an Agreement has been prepared and the City Manager
has recommended its execution and the City Attorney has approved it as
to form.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT DULY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF
THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, that the Mayor and the City Clerk are
authorized and directed to execute the Agreement between the City of
Miami Beach and TPF&C, A Towers Perrin Company, for performing employee
benefit consulting services for the City.
